Overview
The Wireless Thermocouple Sensor is available with a hardwired thermocouple or K-type connector to support various thermocouple types and ranges. The hardwired thermocouple option measures temperatures up to 400°C (752°F). The K-type connector with Probe includes a needle probe that measures temperatures up to 400°C (752°F). The sensor is programmed to sleep for a user-given time interval (heartbeat) and then wakeup, send power to the thermocouple and wait for it to stabilize, and convert the analog data, mathematically compute the temperature and transmit the data to the gateway.
How They Work
- The sensor measures thermocouple data using its integrated sensing element at configurable intervals.
- Readings are transmitted wirelessly to the UpKeep Edge gateway via the 900 MHz protocol, with Encrypt-RF security.
- UpKeep Edge processes incoming data in real time, comparing readings against user-defined alert thresholds.
- When thresholds are breached, instant notifications are sent via text, email, or phone call to designated team members.
- All data is logged for historical trending, compliance reporting, and predictive maintenance analysis.
Applications
- High-temperature process monitoring
- Kiln and furnace oversight
- Heat treatment validation
- Exhaust monitoring

Questions about this sensor
- What does the Enterprise - Thermocouple Temperature Sensor, with K-Type Fixed Probe measure?
- The Wireless Thermocouple Sensor is available with a hardwired thermocouple or K-type connector to support various thermocouple types and ranges. The hardwired thermocouple option measures temperatures up to 400°C (752°F). The K-type connector with Probe includes a needle probe that measures temperatures up to 400°C (752°F). - Where is the Enterprise - Thermocouple Temperature Sensor, with K-Type Fixed Probe typically installed?
- Common placements include high-temperature process monitoring, kiln and furnace oversight, heat treatment validation. It uses an AA-battery enclosure, which trades a little size for the longest battery life in the range.
- What does it need to work?
- An UpKeep Edge gateway within about 1,200 ft. One gateway supports 50 or more sensors, and readings reach UpKeep over the gateway's cellular, Ethernet, or Modbus connection.
- What happens when a reading is out of range?
- UpKeep opens a work order against the asset and notifies the assigned technician. You set the thresholds for each thermocouple sensor individually.
