Overview
The wireless PM2.5 sensor measures PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations in the air and transmits the measurement to i. The PM2.5 sensor works by turning on a small fan at the beginning of a measurement cycle to bring in a volume of ambient air and measuring the particulate matter (PM) content of that sample volume. The sensor measures PM content using a laser that scatters based on the number and size of particles suspended in the air. It is important to keep the inlet ports of the sensor clear to ensure proper readings.
How They Work
- A laser-based particulate matter sensor measures PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 concentrations in ambient air samples.
- Readings are transmitted wirelessly to the UpKeep Edge gateway at configurable intervals.
- UpKeep Edge processes the data and triggers alerts when air quality thresholds are exceeded.
- Historical data is stored for compliance reporting, trend analysis, and occupant health monitoring.
Applications
- ► Building/Room Air Quality
- ► Pollution Sensing
- ► Petrochemicals
- ► Agricultural/Waste
- 000+ feet through 18+ walls1
- Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS)

Questions about this sensor
- What does the Enterprise - Air Quality, Particle Measure 2.5, Line Power Only measure?

- Where is the Enterprise - Air Quality, Particle Measure 2.5, Line Power Only typically installed?
- Common placements include ► building/room air quality, ► pollution sensing, ► petrochemicals. It uses an AA-battery enclosure, which trades a little size for the longest battery life in the range.
- What does it need to work?
- An UpKeep Edge gateway within about 1,200 ft. One gateway supports 50 or more sensors, and readings reach UpKeep over the gateway's cellular, Ethernet, or Modbus connection.
- What happens when a reading is out of range?
- UpKeep opens a work order against the asset and notifies the assigned technician. You set the thresholds for each air quality sensor individually.
