Welcoming Roxie to UpKeep!!!

Welcoming Roxie Friberg to the UpKeep family as our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Manager!!

We have Roxie Friberg joining UpKeep this week! Roxie will be starting as our FP&A Manager, bringing with her valuable expertise from her previous role. She'll work closely with our CFO, Jim Lightsey, to develop our financial plans for the years ahead! Welcome Roxie!

We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family, Roxie! Tell us a little about yourself.

I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, but now call San Francisco my home. Prior to that, I moved to California to attend USC (fight on!) and double majored in piano performance and finance. I pursued finance as a career, although classical piano is still a huge passion of mine. In addition to playing the piano,I love sushi, yoga, hiking, traveling, and dogs/animals (I have a labradoodle named George).

How did you first get into Finance?

I did what most finance majors did, and went into banking after college. After a few years as an analyst, I realized that I wanted to make a bigger impact at a smaller company. So, I decided to move to San Francisco and utilize my skill set in the tech world.

Why are you excited to join UpKeep?

The people are genuinely passionate about the mission of the company, which has generated a great culture as a result. I’m also excited to work for a company that has a fantastic opportunity to do some good in this world. 

What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?

I’m blown away by the team’s positivity. Especially at a time like this, in the height of uncertainty from coronavirus, everyone has banded together to support each other and the clients we serve. I’m grateful to be surrounded by kind, motivated, and creative people that have welcomed me into the company with open arms despite the crazy times we are facing!

We have to know - how old were you when you started playing the piano? What are a couple of your favorite pieces to play?

I was four years old when I first started playing! And that’s a tough one - I would say my favorite classical piece to currently play is the Pathetique sonata by Beethoven. However, I also like to play crowd pleasers, like songs from the Beatles or Radiohead. I’m also taking requests!

And finally, most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?

A coffee grinder! To crush anything that comes my way (in a positive way!)
