We’re so excited to welcome Patrick to the team this week! Patrick is joining us as our Account Executive, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board! Here is our interview with him!

We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family today, Patrick! Tell us a little about yourself! 

Thank you for the warm welcome! I am from Denver, Colorado and have been living in Raleigh, NC for the last year. I’ve been married to my wife Hannah for 6 years! We have a pup named Ace - he is a Husky mix, and he talks like it. 

How did you first get into Sales?

My first sales job was for Caribbean Cruise Lines at age 18! That may sound glamorous, but don’t let it fool you. I was the person that called you and said “Congratulations! You’ve won a cruise on Caribbean Cruise Lines!” I lasted there for a month, then took my skills to Staples where I was oddly good at signing people up for rewards cards. Every time they signed up at the register I would yell “Congratulations!”

Why are you excited to join UpKeep?

I am excited to join UpKeep because the company is growing to become the definitive market leader, and the vision and journey the company is headed on is something I want to be a part of. I worked for a competitor before coming to UpKeep, so I’m familiar with the outstanding product we have.

What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?

Better than I hoped for. I loved getting to know everyone and it seems to be a very good match.

Patrick, you mentioned how you played multiple sports growing up, and you’re even picking up surfing now! Got a difficult question for you. If you could only pick one sport to watch and play for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Definitely Hockey. I grew up playing the sport - my dad is Canadian so my first present was a hockey stick (literally). I am a staunch Colorado Avalanche fan, and if you know anything about hockey, you know we are on the come back!

Finally, and most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?

After much debate, I would be a spork!
