Welcoming Joe Garvey to the UpKeep family as our new Sales Development Representative!

Let us to introduce a new member of the Sales team - Joe Garvey! Joe is an SDR starting with us and we can't wait to get him on the phones. Welcome to UpKeep, Joe!

We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family, Joe! Tell us a little about yourself.

I grew up in Massachusetts, the youngest of 3. Was very active from an early age, always wanting to be outside playing sports, snowboarding, hiking and camping. I love the east coast but LA feels like home. The close proximity to beaches, mountains and year round perfect weather can't be beat. I enjoy trying new things and love being involved in competitive things.

What made you want to get into Sales?

I first got into Sales because I am a people person and love engaging with new people. When I believe in something, I love sharing it with people and I believe in UpKeep. I enjoy the competitive nature that being in Sales entails.

Why are you excited to join UpKeep?

I am excited to join UpKeep because I wanted a Sales job where I believe in the product. Not only do I believe in the software we are offering, I am also proud to work for a company that is helping to make the blue collar worker's day-to-day easier. So often the blue collar worker is overlooked and it’s great to be with a company that is helping the working class American.

What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?

The culture is great! Very positive and enthusiastic. The team is very welcoming, friendly and happy to be at work. I love it so far!

We have to know - what is it about Parks and Rec that makes it better than The Office to you?

The Office is a copy, Parks is an original. Also…..two words: Ron Swanson. I know one character can’t make a series, but Ron Swanson’s character makes a strong case. The entire cast is better in my opinion, pre-movie-star Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Amy Poehler, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe!

And finally, perhaps most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?

When I was asked this day one I said I would be a paper fork, but after having some time to think about this I would definitely be a whisk. I like to mix things up and try new combinations. Whipping new things up is exciting and I enjoy being adventurous.
