We’re so excited to welcome Allen to the team this week! Allen is joining us as our Sr. IT Manager, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on board! Here is our interview with him!

We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family today, Allen! Tell us a little about yourself! 

I am Allen Shvarts and I come to UpKeep after working in the enterprise and startup worlds. I am a big family guy with 2 beautiful girls, a wife, and 2 dogs. Electric mountain biking is one of my hobbies along with being the go-to tech guy for all family and friends.

How did you first get into Tech?

After doing a couple of years of DSL and DialUp support I was lucky enough to get a field tech job at Google.

Why are you excited to join UpKeep?

The company has a lot of heart and culture for such a young organization. I am hoping to bring my experience in enterprise and startup to help us scale our growth.

What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?

AMAZING. I really got that feeling of “Welcome Home” That is hard to do when everyone is in office not to mention being remote.

Allen, you mentioned how you’re a big fan of the show, The Office. If you could have coffee with one of the characters, who would it be and why?

Easy. Michael Scott. On my path to being a great manager, how could I pass up the chance to have coffee with the best manager ever?

Finally, and most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?

I will go back to my answer from my first day on this and pick a knife as I think I am sharp.
