Welcoming Nick Trueman to the UpKeep Family!

We’re so excited to welcome Nick to the team this week! Nick is joining us as our Sr. Manager of Sales Development, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on board! Here is our interview with him!

We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family today, Nick! Tell us a little about yourself! 

I started my career in teaching and then transitioned to sales.  I have a wife and two kids, Jack 11, Mae 7. I enjoy all outdoor activities, such as running, hiking, biking, swimming, and playing with my kids. We live in Holly Springs, NC which is a suburb of Raleigh. Raleigh is equal distance to the beach and to the mountains, which we enjoy spending time at both places.

How did you first get into Sales?

I started in sales after transitioning out of teaching. I loved teaching, but saw many of my friends start in tech sales in the Raleigh area, so I wanted to make the move. I started as an SDR at ChannelAdvisor, which sells e-commerce software to retailers and brand manufacturers. From there, I moved to an AE position, and then became an SDR Manager.

Why are you excited to join UpKeep?

I know there is a ton of green space selling CMMS in the manufacturing sector. UpKeep is the leading technology and is growing fast. I have always wanted to build out a world-class SDR team, and I am very excited to build off the current momentum the SDR team has right now finishing 2020.

What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?

I’ve been very impressed with the culture. I can tell I am surrounded by smart, hard-working people who are passionate about making and keeping UpKeep the top CMMS software out there.

Nick, you mentioned you’ve competed in over 25 triathlons and have even built hiking trails - what’s your favorite part about running?

I love running. I love the competitive nature of it. Two to three days a week I run with some of my best friends. They are also in sales and sometimes we get into great conversations while running about where we are in our careers or ideas we have, and we find it really helps. We all need mentors in our life! I also enjoy the alone time! I typically get out and run around 5:30 am. I really enjoy the serenity at that time of day.

Finally, and most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?

I chose a Vitamix. First, because it’s my favorite, and we use it every day. Second, there’s a lot more you can do with a Vitamix than just smoothies. You can surprisingly make all kinds of food with it.
