Welcoming Fern Aguayo to the UpKeep family as a Sales Development Representative (SDR)!!

We have another SDR joining the team this week - Fern Aguayo! Fern has previous Sales Advising experience and will undoubtedly be a rockstar on the phones with our customers!

We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family, Fern! Tell us a little about yourself.

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to join the UpKeep family. I was born and raised in Long Beach, California ultimately moving out to the Inland Valley which is about an hour away. Ended up moving back to attend Cal State Long Beach! I am always finding time to go to the beach a couple times a month and getting my daily run in. I also love movies and following everything sports. Mainly into basketball, baseball, and Formula One! 

How did you first get into Sales?

It started out at a young age! When I was about 7 years old during the summers I would accompany my dad to his client appointments when he was an oil salesman. He would take me to client meetings, social events at professional baseball or basketball games, conferences, and dinners. It was awesome being able to see him in action and having him introduce me to all of them. Those experiences motivated me to follow my own career path in industries that personally interested me through sales!

Why are you excited to join UpKeep?

I am extremely excited to join UpKeep because of the incredible growth and opportunity that comes with joining such a mission driven company.

What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?

Culture is great! I love the positive energy and enthusiasm everyone has working here. It’s already feeling like a second family. 

We have to know - tell us more about your 2019 travels! What was your favorite place you visited? Any crazy stories?

Favorite place I visited in 2019 was Thailand with my close friends! I went to Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Bangkok for a little over a month. I stayed in each city for about two weeks. In Chiang Mai I rented a moped for about a week and had to navigate all the crazy traffic, rain, and windy roads to be able to visit the beaches and see Big Buddha. The second day riding our mopeds ended up with me and my friends getting tickets for not having international drivers licenses. That was my first ever ticket outside of the U.S. ! Luckily it was only $20. 

And finally, most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?

I would be a whisk! I like mixing things up.
