Welcoming Curtis White to the UpKeep Family!

We’re so excited to welcome Curtis to the team this week! Curtis is joining us as our Marketing Ops & GTM Systems Manager, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have him starting! Here is our interview with him!

We’re excited to welcome you to the UpKeep family today, Curtis! Tell us a little about yourself! 

My name is Curtis White and I am excited to join the team! I grew up on the island of Oahu, and have a rescue named Lando who looks like a golden retriever. Lando is currently in Hawaii with my parents and grandma living it up by the pool. I actually studied music composition in college, and record music in my bedroom in my spare time. My newest obsession is collecting plants for my home office, and I love going on bike rides or heading to the beach.

Why are you excited to join UpKeep?

The culture has been amazing. I really like Ryan’s story and modernizing an industry that could benefit from technology. He saw a gap in his field and built his own CMMS, and I don’t know how many other people would have done that. Instead of looking at it as “that’s just how it is”, he taught himself to code and did it himself. That in itself is pretty inspiring.

What are your first thoughts about the culture and team so far?

Great! I have already joined a few clubs on Slack and everyone has been very welcoming.

Curtis, we know you’re a big Star Wars fan! So we have to know — if you could have dinner with one Star Wars character, who would it be and why?

Probably Han Solo, he was always so cool. I wanted to say Chewbacca, but I probably wouldn’t understand a word he says.

Finally, and most importantly, what would you be if you were a kitchen utensil?

I would be Vegetable Spiralizer. That way I can still help make pasta, but be a healthy option!
