AI features

UpKeep leads

Every plan includes Nova with monthly credits (250 on Essential up to 1,000 on Enterprise). Nova answers questions about your data, drafts closeout notes, cleans up data and builds checklists. The Nova App Builder creates custom apps from a description, starting on Premium.

Limble

Limble's AI includes the AI PM Builder, AI scheduling, Asset Snap, forecasting and anomaly detection. The newest features, such as duplicate request prevention, scheduling suggestions and an MCP integration, are on Enterprise.

UpKeep gives every plan Nova; Limble keeps its newest AI for Enterprise.

Work order management

Tie

Every plan includes unlimited work orders and locations, data importing and unlimited requesters. Technicians create work orders by voice with Voice Fill, and Nova drafts closeout notes and activity summaries. Checklists and time and cost tracking start on Premium, and custom statuses and workflow automation on Enterprise.

Limble

Limble's Standard plan includes unlimited work orders, assets and PMs, unlimited free work requesters, QR codes and the mobile app. Reviewers praise how quickly technicians pick it up. Some note that a single work order can't cover multiple assets.

Both are easy for technicians; UpKeep adds AI drafting and free view-only seats.

Preventive maintenance

Limble leads

PM scheduling starts on Premium at $55/user/month. It covers time-based and meter-based schedules and custom checklists, with the Smart Checklist Builder writing checklists from a short description. Edge sensors can open a work order automatically when a reading leaves its range.

Limble

PM is included on Standard at about $28/user/month, with Limble's AI PM Builder to draft schedules. Meter and threshold-based PMs need Premium+, and IoT-triggered PMs need Enterprise integrations.

Limble puts PM on its entry plan; UpKeep adds sensor triggers with its own Edge hardware.

Asset management

Tie

UpKeep supports a four-level asset hierarchy, barcode scanning and meter readings from Premium, and asset lifecycle tracking on Professional. Enterprise adds depreciation, warranty and downtime tracking, custom asset statuses and check-in/check-out for shared equipment.

Limble

Limble supports unlimited assets with parent-child hierarchies, QR codes, and asset cost and downtime tracking. Asset Snap uses AI to capture asset details from a photo.

Both handle asset hierarchies well; UpKeep adds lifecycle tracking on Professional.

Parts and inventory

UpKeep leads

Parts and inventory management with costing starts on Premium at $55/user/month, with multiple inventory lines per part. Photo-to-Parts creates part records from a photo. Purchase orders sit on Enterprise.

Limble

Spare parts and inventory, vendors and purchase orders are on Premium+ at about $69/user/month. Cycle counts, multi-location transfers and bulk reordering are on Enterprise.

UpKeep gets you inventory for less ($55 vs ~$69); Limble includes POs at that tier.

Reporting and analytics

Limble leads

Drill-down reporting starts on Premium (30 days of history), with full history from Professional. Enterprise adds custom dashboards, asset downtime and equipment reliability reports, and multi-site modules. Nova can answer questions about your data in plain language on every plan.

Limble

Custom dashboards start on Standard, and Premium+ adds unlimited advanced analytics. Some reviewers say basic reports, such as lists of open work orders, are harder to build than expected.

Limble shows dashboards on a lower tier; UpKeep lets managers see reports on free seats.

Mobile app and offline use

Tie

UpKeep started as a mobile app, and its iOS and Android apps cover work orders, scanning, photos, signatures and voice entry. Offline work orders start on Professional, with bookmarked and auto-cached work orders and offline drafts.

Limble

Limble's iOS and Android apps are highly rated for work orders, QR scanning and photos. Offline mode is on Premium+ and covers assigned tasks, data entry and time logging. A few reviewers mention occasional glitches.

Both are mobile-first; offline needs Premium+ on Limble and Professional on UpKeep.

Integrations

Limble leads

API access, business integrations and custom integrations are on Enterprise. UpKeep's own Edge sensors connect natively without an integration project.

Limble

Premium+ includes a REST API. ERP and IoT integrations, SSO as an included feature, and custom roles are on Enterprise. Limble integrates with Samsara for fleet data.

Limble opens its API on a lower tier; both put ERP integrations on Enterprise.

Safety, fleet and training

UpKeep leads

UpKeep sells Safety (incident capture with OSHA 300, 300A and 301 recordkeeping), Fleet (DVIRs, VIN lookup, telematics) and Learn (courses and certifications) as modules on the same platform and login as maintenance.

Limble

Limble has no EHS or OSHA recordkeeping module; 21 CFR Part 11 compliance is on Enterprise. Fleet data comes through a Samsara integration, and there is no learning or certification module.

One vendor for maintenance, EHS, fleet and training means fewer tools and invoices.

Sensors and condition monitoring

UpKeep leads

UpKeep Edge is UpKeep's own wireless sensor line for vibration, temperature and other readings. A reading outside the range you set opens a work order on that asset automatically, and dashboards show sensor trends next to maintenance history.

Limble

Limble doesn't make its own sensors. It connects to third-party IoT sensors through integrations on Enterprise.

UpKeep's Edge sensors work out of the box; Limble needs third-party hardware and Enterprise.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before switching

Can I import my Limble data into UpKeep?

Yes. Assets, preventive maintenance schedules, work order history, parts inventory and vendor records can all be imported. Our customer success team handles the data mapping and validates everything with you before it goes live.

How does UpKeep pricing compare to Limble?

Limble starts at $28/user/month with no free tier and a minimum seat count. UpKeep is priced comparably and often lower once you add in Nova AI, Nova Apps, Learn, Fleet and 24/7 support, all included. Limble gates equivalent capability to Premium+ and Enterprise.

Does UpKeep have the AI features Limble is releasing?

Yes, and then some. Nova is already live on every UpKeep plan, work order drafting, data audits, scheduled AI tasks and failure pattern detection. Limble's top AI features (duplicate WO prevention, scheduling suggestions) are Enterprise-only.

I use Samsara for my fleet. Do I still need to run it alongside UpKeep?

No. UpKeep Fleet is a native module with DVIRs, VIN lookup, mileage-based PMs and telematics integration built in. Many teams consolidate off Samsara once they migrate.

Can I try UpKeep before committing?

Yes. Book a walkthrough and we'll set up a sandbox with your actual data. You can run both systems in parallel during evaluation.

What happens to my Limble contract?

Most teams time the switch to the end of their Limble term. If you're mid-contract and want to move sooner, we can structure onboarding to keep your total spend flat during the overlap.
