AI features

UpKeep leads

Every plan includes Nova with monthly credits (250 on Essential up to 1,000 on Enterprise). Nova answers questions about your data, drafts closeout notes, cleans up data and builds checklists. The Nova App Builder creates custom apps from a description, starting on Premium.

Fiix

Fiix Foresight, on Professional and Enterprise, offers work order insights, asset insights and a parts forecaster. Fiix MAX, a conversational AI assistant on desktop and mobile, is a paid add-on for Professional and Enterprise. Fiix Asset Health, powered by Augury, adds AI-driven predictive maintenance.

UpKeep includes an AI assistant on every plan. Fiix's assistant needs a $75 plan and an add-on.

Work order management

Tie

Every plan includes unlimited work orders and locations, data importing and unlimited requesters. Technicians create work orders by voice with Voice Fill, and Nova drafts closeout notes and activity summaries. Checklists and time and cost tracking start on Premium, and custom statuses and workflow automation on Enterprise.

Fiix

Every plan, including Free, includes unlimited work requests and work orders, tasks and task lists, a calendar, and email and push notifications. Basic adds pass/fail inspection tasks and resource-based scheduling, so planners can assign work by available hours. Professional adds multi-asset work orders and rounds; Enterprise adds e-signatures and completion controls.

Fiix suits planners who schedule by capacity; UpKeep suits technicians who need to log work fast from a phone.

Preventive maintenance

UpKeep leads

PM scheduling starts on Premium at $55/user/month. It covers time-based and meter-based schedules and custom checklists, with the Smart Checklist Builder writing checklists from a short description. Edge sensors can open a work order automatically when a reading leaves its range.

Fiix

The PM scheduler is on every plan, with up to 25 active PMs free and unlimited PMs from Basic at $45/user/month. Professional adds nested PMs so overlapping jobs don't duplicate work. Meter readings are on every plan, but automated maintenance triggers sit on Enterprise. Condition-based maintenance connects through Rockwell's FactoryTalk Optix.

Fiix is cheaper for calendar-only PMs. UpKeep triggers PMs from meter readings and from its own Edge sensors without an enterprise contract, and the Smart Checklist Builder writes the checklist from a description.

Asset management

Tie

UpKeep supports a four-level asset hierarchy, barcode scanning and meter readings from Premium, and asset lifecycle tracking on Professional. Enterprise adds depreciation, warranty and downtime tracking, custom asset statuses and check-in/check-out for shared equipment.

Fiix

Every Fiix plan includes unlimited assets, asset hierarchies, downtime tracking, QR and barcode scanning and meter readings. Professional adds rotating assets and asset criticality, and Enterprise adds failure codes for root-cause analysis. Foresight's asset insights flag the assets that cost the most.

Fiix places more asset tracking on lower tiers. UpKeep carries a four-level hierarchy, so the depth is comparable and the difference is where it sits in the plans.

Parts and inventory

Fiix leads

Parts and inventory management with costing starts on Premium at $55/user/month, with multiple inventory lines per part. Photo-to-Parts creates part records from a photo. Purchase orders sit on Enterprise.

Fiix

Unlimited parts and supplies inventory is included on every plan, even Free. Professional adds inventory cycle counts and purchasing with RFQs, and Foresight's parts forecaster predicts stock needs and flags parts likely to run out.

Fiix includes inventory from the free plan and purchasing on a lower tier.

Reporting and analytics

UpKeep leads

Drill-down reporting starts on Premium (30 days of history), with full history from Professional. Enterprise adds custom dashboards, asset downtime and equipment reliability reports, and multi-site modules. Nova can answer questions about your data in plain language on every plan.

Fiix

A dashboard is included on every plan, standard reports start on Basic, and Professional adds advanced analytics and custom reports. Fiix Foresight on Professional surfaces work order insights, asset insights and parts forecasts from your maintenance data.

UpKeep sells Analytics and Reporting and Intelligence as products in their own right, and Nova answers questions in plain language on every plan. Fiix reports from inside the CMMS, and Foresight needs the $75 Professional plan.

Mobile app and offline use

Tie

UpKeep started as a mobile app, and its iOS and Android apps cover work orders, scanning, photos, signatures and voice entry. Offline work orders start on Professional, with bookmarked and auto-cached work orders and offline drafts.

Fiix

The Fiix mobile app is included on every plan, and Fiix says teams can update work orders, see asset histories and view dashboards from anywhere, even without an internet connection. QR and barcode scanning and push notifications are on every plan.

Fiix includes offline use on every plan; UpKeep's app is built for technicians first.

Integrations

Fiix leads

API access, business integrations and custom integrations are on Enterprise. UpKeep's own Edge sensors connect natively without an integration project.

Fiix

Fiix's Integration Hub offers an open API, prebuilt connectors and custom integrations to ERP and industrial control systems; ERP integrations, custom API work and the app exchange are on Enterprise at extra cost. Fiix is Rockwell-owned, connects to FactoryTalk Optix, and became an official SAP Build Partner in March 2026.

For plants on Rockwell or SAP, Fiix's integrations are a real advantage, though they cost extra.

Safety, fleet and training

UpKeep leads

UpKeep sells Safety (incident capture with OSHA 300, 300A and 301 recordkeeping), Fleet (DVIRs, VIN lookup, telematics) and Learn (courses and certifications) as modules on the same platform and login as maintenance.

Fiix

Fiix covers safety checks through pass/fail inspection tasks and tracks user certifications, both from Basic. It does not offer an incident-management, fleet or learning-management module.

One vendor for maintenance, EHS, fleet and training means fewer tools and invoices.

Sensors and condition monitoring

UpKeep leads

UpKeep Edge is UpKeep's own wireless sensor line for vibration, temperature and other readings. A reading outside the range you set opens a work order on that asset automatically, and dashboards show sensor trends next to maintenance history.

Fiix

Fiix Asset Health, powered by Augury, combines wireless machine sensors, continuous AI monitoring and validation by human experts. It predicts failures and creates detailed work orders in Fiix before downtime. It is sold separately, with pricing through sales.

Fiix Asset Health is Augury, bought separately and priced through sales. Edge is first-party and self-serve, and a reading out of range opens a work order on that asset with no second contract.

FAQ

Questions teams ask before switching

Can I import my Fiix data into UpKeep?

Yes. Assets, preventive maintenance schedules, work order history, parts inventory and vendor records can all be imported. Our CS team handles the data mapping and validates everything with you before go-live.

We're heavy Rockwell/FactoryTalk users. Does UpKeep fit?

Yes. UpKeep connects to Rockwell environments through native integrations and our public API. You keep your PLC/SCADA stack and get modern CMMS + AI on top. Many of our manufacturing customers run Rockwell alongside UpKeep.

How does UpKeep pricing compare to Fiix?

Fiix Professional runs $75/user/month and still doesn't include the AI add-ons. UpKeep is priced comparably but includes Nova AI, Nova Apps, Learn, Fleet and 24/7 support. When you add what you'd actually need from Fiix, UpKeep is materially cheaper.

Will my technicians actually adopt it?

UpKeep started as a mobile app and the phone is where technicians do the work: voice entry, scanning, photos and signatures. Requesters and view-only users are unlimited and free, so reporting a problem never needs a paid seat.

Can I try UpKeep before committing?

Yes. Book a walkthrough and we'll set up a sandbox with your actual data. Run both systems in parallel during evaluation.

What happens to my Fiix contract?

Most teams time the switch to the end of their Fiix term. If you're mid-contract, we can structure onboarding to keep total spend flat during the overlap.
