We are excited to chat with Joan Phan, our incredible Project Coordinator! Joan is amazing at what she does, constantly going above and beyond to incorporate a sense of community in all of her projects! One thing we absolutely love about Joan is that she brings people together, with our fellow UpKeep team and the blue-collar workforce! Here is her interview with our CEO, Ryan!

Ryan: What's up, Joan! Could you start us off by sharing what your role is at UpKeep, and some of your responsibilities?

Joan: I’m a project coordinator here at UpKeep within the Operations department, specifically in Community & Strategic Initiatives. My role is to facilitate and engage with our internal and external communities, whether that’s within our UpKeep team or with the outside maintenance world!

Ryan: How did you find out about UpKeep? And, what made you want to join the team? 

Joan: I found out about UpKeep through a job posting on Built in LA. I think what struck me the most was this high-level overview of what UpKeep was about, and more importantly, insight into who the UpKeep team was. I’m happy to say that what I read online matched what I experienced here at UpKeep.

Ryan: Currently, what’s a project you’ve been working on that you’re really proud of? Or, maybe a project you’ve already completed that you still think about?

Joan: Right now, I’m currently working on increasing the number of active users in our Maintenance Community Slack and I believe we’re working toward the right direction. The more maintenance and reliability professionals we have engaging each week - the more value we can provide to the industry! It makes me proud that we not only serve our fellow UpKeep customers but also the vast community of maintenance professionals globally.

Ryan: What’s something you love about UpKeep?

Joan: I love how there are no bad ideas. If one idea doesn’t work, we move forward and think of more. It makes each day a brand new and exciting day.
