5 different types of mechanical testing
1. Mechanical properties
A test for mechanical properties looks at the mechanical properties of the thing in question. Places this test would apply to include things like impact resistance, ductility, bending, fatigue and more.
2. Tensile testing
These tests are concerned with the strength of the wire or strap in question when it is under tension. A similar or the item actually in question is stretched to the breaking point in order to find out what that point actually is.
3. Impact of strength
While this may seem to be similar to the mechanical properties test, impact strength tests are primarily concerned with how much force a particular part can take before it would break. A pendulum is generally used to control the force in question and these tests are primarily performed on different types of parts.
4. Hardness testing
These tests are done to determine the resistance to penetration of the thing in question. to determine the hardness of the thing in question.
5. Corrosion resistance
This is similar to the hardness test. These tests are done to know how rust, chemical damage, or other wear and tear-resistant something is.
