What can Nova do today?

Yes! Nova can suggest an optimized PM schedule, especially helpful when managing hundreds of PMs across teams or sites.

Yes and No. While Nova can certainly list spare parts and even assist in restocking or generating purchase orders; Technicians do not currently have access to Nova.

Absolutely. Nova can extract assets, parts, or other data from CSVs and PDF manuals to help streamline onboarding or audits.

Nova will not proactively flag this as overkill, but if you ask Nova to analyze your PMs and suggest improvements, it may highlight an opportunity like this.

Does Nova support other languages?

Yes! Nova can understand and translate work orders written in other languages into English (and vice versa, for some languages).

Yes!  You can ask Nova to talk to you in any language and translate UpKeep data between languages.

How smart is Nova, really?

Yes — when you prompt Nova to get data, Nova will analyze that data and use it as context for future messages within that thread. Nova does not (yet) passively analyze historical data and build up memory or preferences that persist across your account.

Within a single thread, yes. However, Nova only retains context and preferences within a single thread. At the moment, there isn’t a way to save preferences like this that persist across all threads.

Nova is designed to handle many different types of tasks, so it sometimes needs to adjust its approach if the first attempt doesn’t work. When this happens, it may retry or refine its steps to get the job done correctly.

Not today — Nova uses historical completion times and asset/site data, but it doesn’t account for live routing or congestion.

What systems and data does Nova work with?

Nova is currently built for UpKeep, but we’re exploring early integrations with systems like SAP. JDE and Maximo are on our radar.

Not today, but integrations like this are part of our long-term roadmap.

Nova has access to one site at a time. If you’re a multi-site user, you need to switch sites and relaunch Nova to give it operate in that site.

Who can use Nova, and how is data protected?

For now, yes. Nova is only supported for full Administrator user types.

No, once enabled Nova is available to all Administrators in the account.

Yes — Nova’s responses and interactions are saved, so your team can revisit them later just like any other work order history.

Definitely. While Nova is live, we can provide sandbox access or limit Nova to a small set of users or test data during your rollout. Just ask your CSM for help setting this up, or book a demo on this page.

Is Nova available on mobile?

Nova is currently available on desktop, and mobile support is coming soon!

How does pricing and credit usage work?

Most tasks cost 2–10 credits depending on complexity. You’ll get usage alerts before you hit any limits — we don’t auto-upgrade or cut you off without notice.

For now, yes. We’re using a credit-based model so you can scale usage based on your needs. We’re actively exploring more flexible plans.

Yes! We’ll notify you when you’re getting close — no surprises.

Great question! First and foremost we’re working on improving the accuracy and speed of Nova’s responses. Additionally we’re building out a tech-focused version that’s designed for mobile devices. We’re also developing a way to have Nova execute behind the scenes, giving you more control over automation and the ability to receive proactive insights. Stay tuned — this is just the beginning.
