We are so excited to chat with Nick Trueman, our Sales Development Manager! In such a short period, Nick has transformed the internal processes and training to elevate the entire sales department. Nick has been an all-star when it comes to integrating best practices and methods to ensure our team is well-supported! We're incredibly lucky to have Nick and his expertise on the team! Here is his interview with our CEO, Ryan.
Ryan: How did you find out about UpKeep? And, what made you want to join the team?
Nick: Interestingly, I first heard about UpKeep during a call review with an SDR when I was with a competitor. Then, Tyler reached out about the opportunity here to build out and lead the SDR organization at UpKeep. After my conversations with the team, taking a deeper dive at the product, and already understanding the addressable marketing we have in this space, it was an easy decision!
Ryan: Currently, what’s a project you’ve been working on that you’re really proud of? Or, maybe a project you’ve already completed that you still think about?
Nick: One would be the weekly trainings for the SDRs. It definitely takes a lot of time and effort to put together a good interactive training, but I think it’s super important. I’ve also received good feedback from some of the SDRs, so I hope they also find value.
Another one would be the Outbound approach. It’s definitely not where it needs to be, but we are making progress. I am also extremely excited to continue to tackle this with Dan, Bobby, Jeff, and Nate. We have a huge space in front of us. It may take a couple of months to build out, but I love the ideas this team has been floating around. Ryan, I think you said it best one meeting — ”outbound controls our destiny.” So, I’m super excited to continue to build our Outbound Strategy out with our new leadership!
Ryan: What’s something you love about UpKeep?
Nick: Hands down the people and culture. I can really tell that everyone I work with is on a mission to make and keep UpKeep the best CMMS out there. Working remotely makes it a little more challenging with strengthening the culture, but I really like everything we are doing. UpKeep’s Quarantineversary Day was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed meeting new people and the activities we had. I am really looking forward to meeting more people in person!
