We’re so excited to welcome our April hires, to the team! Get to know them in their welcome interview!
We’re so excited to welcome our April hires to the team this month! Get to know the awesome additions to the UpKeep Family! Here is our interview with them!
Welcome to the team, Richard!
"I was born and raised in the Bay Area, but I went to school in Utah for my undergrad and have been here ever since. I met my wife in college, we have a 2 year old boy, and we are expecting another baby boy in early August! In my spare time, I enjoy watching basketball and football, running, and playing with my son.
In my previous job, I worked in Operations primarily with the Customer Success team, but I would also work a lot with Sales and Marketing Operations. This was my first exposure into Revenue Operations. I enjoyed being involved with multiple facets of the company, so I always jumped on every opportunity I had to be more involved with the Sales and Marketing departments to bridge the gap between those two departments and Customer Success.
In middle school and high school, my summer job was working for a property management company. I worked with our facilities manager, taking care of the properties and doing small maintenance for the tenants. I had firsthand experience working in the maintenance world alongside blue-collar workers. I always wished there was a better way to track work orders and jobs I needed to complete. Hearing about UpKeep's amazing product, and seeing its effectiveness, has made me want to join UpKeep so that I could play a role in helping some of the hardest workers in the world be more efficient and receive more recognition for their work."
Welcome to the team, Nathan!
"Hi, I'm Nathan! I was born in Boston, but grew up in the Bay Area. I met my wife at UC Berkeley, and we now live in Marin with my twin 15 year old daughters and 3 dogs. Under normal circumstances, I spend most of my free time as an unpaid Uber driver to volleyball practices and theatre rehearsals, and sneaking in an occasional Brazilian Jiu Jitsu workout. During the pandemic, I've been cooking a lot (love Japanese, but dabble all over), while binge-watching foreign-language crime procedurals and action movies.
My first Sales job was a summer internship cold-calling for a small insurance company, selling workers comp to plumbers and construction workers. I didn't love the product, but loved the process. Since then, I've spent 20 years in Sales at Salesforce, Akamai, Okta, and SalesLoft. I am excited to come full circle selling a product I actually love for blue-collar workers!
I'm incredibly excited to join UpKeep. It's always about the people, and UpKeep's company culture is amazing. Top down from Ryan, I've been so impressed with everyone's intelligence, authenticity and drive to do great things. And, we've got a MASSIVE opportunity to do just that by changing the lives of an incredibly important, but largely underserved segment of the global workforce. Let's do this!"
Welcome to the team, Sara!
"My name is Sara Cohen and I’m inspired by technology, data and personalization that automates processes for professional and personal use. I strive to continually improve, and consider myself an advocate for learning new ways to support the best overall customer experience. My background in Marketing has introduced me to topics that align with these goals and make the supported deployments fun. In my free time, you can find me hiking in the mountains, playing with my two dogs, or attending concerts.
I first discovered my passion for Marketing as a freshman in college. I was majoring in business initially and became so intrigued by the creativity it offered that I switched to Marketing as my major. After graduating, I held several generalist roles which provided me flexibility to learn about different areas related to digital, trade shows, technology and operations. Through this, I quickly developed a special interest in operations and technology. These interesting fast-paced areas of Marketing are some of my favorites, in that they can transform processes when combined and provide significant data insights to better the business.
I’m very excited to join UpKeep and contribute towards process improvements in my role that will impact department efficiency and company goals. Additionally, I look forward to learning more about our maintenance professionals community and the impact this brings to many of the industries we collaborate and do business with."
Welcome to the team, JT!
"My name is JT and I live in Beaverton, Oregon with my wife Anna and my 2 year old daughter Zelda. I grew up mostly in Boulder, Colorado, but spent a year in Germany as a kid — Aus Schaden wird man klug (Failure makes you smarter). Growing up in Boulder, I had a love for hiking and gardening, which I still have today.
I got into computer programming as a kid when my dad brought home a Commodore 64, and I wanted to build my own games on it. I also built tools and games for a bulletin board system I ran before the internet as it is today. I spent 4 years in the Marines after high school, and even after that, I still have a desire to always question the status quo.
I joined Upkeep because I love making technology and tools to help people."
Welcome to the team, David!
"Hi, my name is David Leong. I was born and raised in San Francisco, and moved to Seattle last summer. I am a photographer and musician, and enjoy connecting and collaborating with other creative people around the world.
Welcome to the team, Dan!
"I’m Dan Frohnen. I’m a husband, father, brother, technologist, marketer, and human-first sort of person. I was born in the Bay Area of California, moved around a ton as a kid, lived in Los Angeles for 15 years after college, and now call the Bay Area home again.
I got into Marketing when the first company I worked for bought a company twice their size. It gave me the opportunity to jump into something new and I never looked back. Over the past 15 years since I’ve been in Marketing, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some incredible technology and people across B2B and B2C spaces. Marketing is equal parts creativity and science, which is something I really love.
The team here at UpKeep impressed me from the very beginning of the interview process. Over the course of that process, the team at UpKeep showed me that they cared about their candidates as human beings. In my experience, when a company values the potential of their candidates, it means that their company culture cherishes the potential, the health and the success of their employees as individuals and as a group.
